About the Role The Resort Manager is the primary onsite leader responsible for overseeing all resort operations, enhancing the guest experience, and acting as the main liaison between the resort and head office. This role directs daily operations, leads and supports staff, manages safety and administration, and ensures all departments operate to company standards in a dynamic remote fishing resort environment. Key Responsibilities Lead daily resort operations across all departments (guest services, housekeeping, dock, guided fishing, maintenance, food services, fish processing). Oversee guest experience by greeting guests, communicating daily updates, resolving concerns, and ensuring upscale service. Manage seasonal opening/closing procedures, audits, planning, inventories, and supply ordering. Maintain communication with Operations Manager, head office, vendors, guests, and internal teams. Hire, onboard, train, supervise, and coach staff; oversee performance management and HR processes. Manage financial and administrative tasks: payroll, scheduling, reporting, POS/booking systems, budgeting, costcontrol, and inventory. Conduct safety planning, emergency drills, health & safety audits, and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and NMA safety procedures. Audit maintenance needs, coordinate repairs, and ensure systems, equipment, and facilities operate safely and efficiently. Promote sales and marketing initiatives, rebook guests, and support guest engagement and partnerships. Uphold resort culture, sustainability goals, and professional communication across the organization. Qualifications Strong leadership, communication, delegation, decisionmaking, and conflict management abilities. Exceptional hospitality and guest service skills. Experience with booking software (Maestro preferred). Experience with POS and operational systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Budget management and financial reporting skills. Strong planning, organizational, and timemanagement capabilities. Creative problemsolving and adaptability. Mechanical aptitude (diesel generators, small water systems, sewage/effluent systems). Understanding of building and marina maintenance in a saltwater environment. Ability to identify vessel deficiencies. Drivers licence and drivers abstract. PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operators Card). SVOP (Small Vessel Operator Proficiency) certification. MEDA3 (Marine Emergency Duties) or SDVBS (Small Domestic Vessel Basic Safety). ROCM (Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Marine) certification. OFA3 Certification (Also called Advanced First Aid). Serving it Right certification. Food Safe Level1 certification. Familiarity with west coast saltwater fishing.
