What youll do Identify OHS, CEPA, and NSC regulations applicable to materials and processes at facilities and assist in understanding related programs. Conduct company SH&E compliance audits. Prepare and lead training meetings and trainthetrainer sessions. Advise and support facilities during interactions with regulatory agencies. Keep apprised of federal, regional, and provincial laws and maintain working relationships with regulatory agencies. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Provide guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to team members to enhance performance. Prepare and deliver clear, engaging presentations using the Microsoft Suite. Investigate incidents such as injuries, vehicle accidents, and property damage. Determine root causes and oversee corrective action plans. Ensure timely notification to regulatory agencies and company management for incidents. Monitor facilities for unsafe work practices and support NearMiss Reporting. Support anhydrous ammonia facility Process Safety Management plans. Assist with construction projects and evaluate operational practices for environmental risk. Advise on proposed acquisitions and divestitures for safety and environmental risk. Assist facilities on waste management and disposal issues. Support NSC and fleet safety programs such as driver qualification files and defensive driving training. What youll bring High school diploma desired. Bachelors degree in safety, environmental science, or related field preferred. Professional certification in safety or environmental field preferred; all hired candidates will work toward a Professional Certification in Safety. Knowledge of federal and provincial laws and regulations including OHS, CEPA, AWSA Ammonia Code of Practice, and NSC. Minimum of 5 years work experience. Ability to travel up to 65% of the time, with overnight travel ~40% of the time. Proficient computer skills and ability to type for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Valid Canadian drivers license and willingness to work in a drugfree workplace. Ability to work around chemicals and wear personal protective equipment including nitrile gloves, Tyvek suits, and hardhat. Physically fit to wear a respirator (certified by a physician). Selfmotivated, disciplined, and able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel).
