About The Position The overall function of this position is to support ALS Canadas supply chain operations function by ensuring materials arrive on time while proactively forecasting future demand. This role helps maintain reliable supply equipment and services across ALS Canada locations. The role directly reports to the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager for Canada and routinely interacts with operations, finance and other management personnel. Responsibilities Monitor and expedite open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials, consumables, and equipment. Communicate with suppliers to confirm order status, resolve delays, and update accurate delivery dates in the ERP system. Track shipments, backorders, and shortages, escalating supply risks to internal stakeholders as needed. Analyze historical usage and operational demand to develop short and longterm forecasts. Support planning by identifying trends, adjusting safety stock levels, and recommending reorder points. Collaborate with laboratory, warehouse, and operations teams to validate demand needs and resolve receiving or delivery issues. Maintain and report procurement KPIs including ontime delivery, backorder rates, and forecast accuracy. Evaluate supplier performance (quality, pricing, delivery, compliance) and manage supporting documentation. Collaborate with labs, warehouse teams, and finance to ensure timely and accurate procurement activity. Recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and workflow enhancements. Maintain documentation required for audits (internal, external, ISO/quality). Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality. Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of procurement processes, lead times, supplier performance, and order management. Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting principles, including trend analysis and usage modeling. Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI or other analytics tools is an asset. Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc.). Strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills with suppliers and internal teams. Ability to manage urgent expediting tasks while balancing longterm forecasting priorities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Problemsolving ability with a proactive mindset and confidence in making datadriven recommendations. Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle competing priorities. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field. 14 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supplychain; laboratory, industrial, or manufacturing environment preferred. Experience analyzing spend data and supporting sourcing or suppliermanagement initiatives. Demonstrated ability to work with crossfunctional teams including labs, operations, warehouse, and finance. Supply Chain or Procurement certification (SCMP, CPIM, CPSM or similar) is an asset. Benefits An estimated hourly pay of $28.59 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as jobrelated skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
