Job Description

Assists Occupational Therapist in administering occupational therapy program in Long Term Care facility for physically, developmentally, mentally retarded, or emotionally handicapped patients.Assists in reporting of patients daily living skills and capacities to determine extent of abilities and limitationsAssists in planning and implementing educational, vocational, and recreational programs and activities established by registered Occupational Therapist designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance task performances, diminish or correct pathology, and to promote and maintain health and self-sufficiencyCarries out Occupational Therapists established plan of care for individuals or group treatment as appropriate.May teach basic living skillsDesigns and adapts equipment and working-living environmentFabricates splints and other assistive devicesAssists in instructing patient and family in home programs as well as care and use of adaptive equipmentCompletes all Medicare and company required documentation per guidelines and in a timely manner.Is competent in use of a computer program for clinical documentation.Prepares work materials, assists in maintenance of equipment, and orders suppliesMay be responsible for maintaining observed information in client records and preparing reportsResponsible for achieving patient satisfaction, reporting and maintainingappropriate quality indicator measures for the department/ facility and complying with productivity standards set by Progressive Rehab Solutions.C. Supervisory time with OT/ Collaboration with Team MembersReports information and observations to supervisorResponsible for collaboration with other team members regarding each patients current status / POC as needed.D.
