OverviewBayshore HealthCare is actively seeking a highly motivated full-time Mental Health Registered Nurse (MHN) with experience to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. This is a MondayFriday day-shift opportunity (no nights or weekends) with a focus on delivering mental health services in a primary health care setting.MHNs are responsible for assessment, nursing diagnosis, development and implementation of care plans, crisis intervention, counseling, and life skills programming for clients in the clinic. The role includes individual and/or group counseling using CBT, motivational interviewing, and related techniques, along with bio-psychosocial assessments and medication management from both inpatient and outpatient perspectives.ResponsibilitiesAssess clients and provide nursing diagnoses and care planning in a primary health care setting.Develop and implement individualized care plans; perform crisis intervention as needed.Provide counseling in individual and/or group sessions using CBT, DVT, or motivational interviewing techniques.Conduct bio-psychosocial assessments and manage medications from inpatient and outpatient perspectives.QualificationsAll Nurses must be Registered Nurses (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN).Registered Nurses must possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and either a certificate in Mental Health Nursing or certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).Current RN license from the provincial or territorial college or association in the province of practice.Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers; CPR Level C (or equivalent) with annual recertification.BenefitsDaytime hours Monday to Friday only with no nights, no weekends, and no on-call.Hourly compensation with benefits available for employees who work more than 22.5 hours per week.Medical and dental benefits for eligible employees.Referral opportunities may increase your chances of interview consideration.
