Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Inpatient Unit / Emergency Room North Hastings Hospital (NHH) is located in Bancroft, a charming town at the edge of Algonquin Park. The hospital offers a 24/7 emergency department, medical and palliative care, and a range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. It works closely with the Quinte Health system and the communitys primary care network. Requirements Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligibility for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario. Completion of Coronary Care 1 or equivalent (ex. QHC Cardio Concepts) or completion within 6 months. Current CPR, BLS, or BCLS certificate. Minimum 2 years recent acutecare experience in an acute medical or inpatient surgical department within the last 3 years, or 6 consistent months acutecare experience in an ER environment. Evidence of continuing professional development (list most recent 3 on application). Capacity to cope with a physically demanding workload. Duties Provide patient care within an interprofessional environment, including assessment, treatment, teaching, and education. Perform tasks requiring specialized knowledge and judgement for acute medical patients. Teach and coach patients and families. Maintain nursing records in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards. Practice in compliance with provincial legislation, hospital policy, and professional regulatory standards. Maintain professional competence through regular professional development and continuing education. Participate in unit, department, and hospital qualityimprovement initiatives. Adhere to safety and health policies to maintain a safe workplace. Promote and advocate for an enhanced patient experience in alignment with QHC values. Execute additional duties as assigned.
