Opportunity Registered Nurse (RN) at AgeCare provides professional nursing care to residents and supervises Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers. Responsibilities Coordinate nursing and other services for residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence. Lead shift report with members of the health care team, ensuring all team members are informed of changes in residents status. Record significant changes in residents condition; ensure documentation in the residents chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice. Review and process physician orders as per procedure, ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible. Immediately communicate difficulties in processing physician orders to the Director of Care / Assistant Director of Care. Qualifications A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration. Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Controlled Substances Act (Canada), Health Promotion and Protection Act, Personal Health Protection Act, Coroners Act, Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statutes which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
