Professor of Metallogeny (AP25-10-71983) Join to apply for the Professor of Metallogeny (AP25-10-71983) role at INRS - Institut national de la recherche scientifique Base pay range CA$100,863.00/yr - CA$131,042.00/yr Responsibilities Develop a strong research program with external funding from public and private research grants and partnerships with the mining industry. Train 2nd and 3rd cycle students in INRS programs, more specifically in Earth sciences. Collaborate with professors at the Eau Terre Environnement Research Centre whose specialties include geophysics, geochemistry, volcanology, structural geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, igneous petrology, metamorphic petrology, and machine learning applied to Earth sciences. Cooperate with researchers from the Geological Survey of Canada as part of the Ple goscientifique de Qubec. Supervise research staff. Participate in master's and doctoral programs in Earth sciences, particularly by collaborating on a joint course in metallogeny with Laval University. Contribute to the sustainability and future expansion of the Centres research infrastructures. The list of duties and responsibilities above is summary and indicative. Requirements Education PhD in geology, geological engineering, or Earth sciences (postdoctoral degree an asset). Experience Have an excellent record of research accomplishments. Teaching and mentoring experience with students is an asset. Work experience in the mining industry, specifically in mineral exploration, is an asset. Standard Requirements Scientific production demonstrating autonomy and originality. Ability to conduct applied research with industrial partners, or public and parapublic organizations. The working language is French. Advanced knowledge of English is essential. Candidates with limited knowledge of French are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional Information The salary of a professor at the assistant academic rank can range from $100,863 to $131,042 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is covered by the collective agreement of the Syndicat des professeur.e.s de lINRS.
