Field Service Electrician Apprentice, Commercial Energy ServiceOverviewAs a Commercial Field Service Apprentice Electrician with the Tesla Energy Commercial Operations Team, you will work under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Electrician on the maintenance of commercial PV, energy storage, and supercharging stations. The role involves a variety of electrical disciplines, including distribution/production power, lighting, and low voltage.Working as a team with the Energy department, the Apprentice Electrician assists with the operations and maintenance of power distribution, transformers, lighting, and electrical equipment rated 480 VAC up to 1000 VDC, inverters, batteries, and DC strings under the guidance of a Licensed Electrician.What To ExpectWhat Youll DoMaintain and troubleshoot various types of electrical componentsUse complex electrical schematics and blueprintsConsult manuals, read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and schematicsPerform a wide variety of job scopes (servicing electric vehicle charging stations, battery energy storage systems, and any other required tasks assigned)Display positive attitude and practice good work ethics that reflect the mission, philosophy, and goals of the companyComplete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedbackWhat Youll BringMust be a Registered 309A construction and maintenance electrician apprentice with the Skill Trades Ontario (ONTARIO OPENINGS) or Industry Training Authority (VANCOUVER OPENINGS)Knowledge of basic electrical theory and Ohms law. Must have 1-2 years of electrical experience including the installation of electrical equipmentUse a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipmentExperience working with low voltage control circuits & AC power circuits. Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematicsAbility to travel to numerous sites daily and travel up to 2 weeks at a time with short notice with flexibility to work on weekends and/or overtime along with overnight stay to support Teslas critical missionMust be able to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 pounds frequentlyMust have compliant government issued identification for domestic air travel and/or to access certain federal facilities.
