Physiotherapist - New Graduates The salary range for this position is CAD $42.56 per hour to $52.95 per hour. Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is hiring new graduate physiotherapists into a variety of units and sites. Relocation assistance may be available. New Grad Program VCH offers support and learning opportunities to enhance confidence and competence as new graduates transition to independent practice. New grads receive oncall support, clinical skills sessions, supernumerary buddy shifts, and access to a dedicated educator and the full professional practice team. Acute new grad roles with rotation options across multiple practice areas are also available. What To Prepare Include all clinical placements on your resume, with dates (mm/dd/yyyy). Specify the area of practice for each placement (e.g., Home Health, Acute Care for Elders). List the facility name (e.g., VGH, Burnaby Hospital). Provide a brief description of each placement, including client population served and duties. Have references ready when applying. Key Responsibilities Provide physiotherapy services to enable clients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Perform assessments of client physical status, functional abilities, and goals; establish diagnosis and prognosis; develop and implement intervention strategies; evaluate effectiveness; and communicate with clients, families, and health care team members. Contribute to the organization and delivery of physiotherapy services and participate in departmental and program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education. Education & Experience Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation Sciences from a recognized program. Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). Eligibility for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC). Knowledge & Abilities Broad knowledge of physiotherapy theory and practice within a client and familycentred model of care. Knowledge of CHCPBC standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners. Knowledge of other health care disciplines and their roles in client care. Basic knowledge of evidencebased clinical practice, focused clinical areas, standardised tests, measures, and research methodology. Demonstrated ability to teach and empower clients, adjust to unexpected events, problemsolve, set priorities, and handle conflict. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate effectively with clients, families, coworkers, physicians, and external agencies, provide consultation, and manage workload priorities. Demonstrated skill in physiotherapy techniques and use of applicable equipment, computer skills for client care information systems, and physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
