FINANCIAL COORDINATOR PET AND ANIMAL ADVOCACY CARE TEAMBarrier-Free AccessFlexible HoursRemote/Micro VolunteeringThe financial coordinator is a key administrative volunteer role supporting the financial integrity, transparency, and sustainability of PAACTs operations. Working closely with PAACTs executive team, this position helps manage bookkeeping tasks, track donations and expenses, prepare financial summaries, and support the development of financial practices that uphold PAACTs mission of community-centered animal welfare.This role is ideal for an individual with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and an interest in nonprofit financial management. Your work will directly support PAACTs community programsincluding the Care Closet, Tail End Journey, Frosty Paws Sanctuaries, and Foster Friends for Healingeach of which relies on accurate financial tracking to ensure accountability and ongoing service to the community.Maintain accurate records of all incoming donations (monetary and material), grants, and fundraising income.Track program-related expenses, including supply purchases, emergency support costs, and event-related expenditures.Ensure receipts, invoices, and financial documentation are properly filed and accessible.Monitor donation trends to identify needs for targeted fundraising or resource drives (e.g., Care Closet shortages).Prepare monthly summaries of financial activity for the Executive Team and Board.Support processing and acknowledgement of donor contributions as needed.Budgeting & ReportingAssist PAACTs Executive Team in preparing and revising annual budgets for programs and initiatives.Provide quarterly financial updates to help guide strategic planning and long-term organizational growth.Support preparation of financial documentation required for grant applications or reporting.Compliance & TransparencyEnsure financial practices align with the requirements of Alberta nonprofit societies.Uphold PAACTs commitments to transparency, accountability, and ethical stewardship of community resources.Support document preparation for annual filings or reporting obligations.Work collaboratively with PAACTs executive team to ensure financial decisions align with program needs and organizational capacity.Participate in planning for fundraising events and help evaluate financial feasibility of proposed initiatives.Age Requirements18 years old or aboveOther RequirementsQualificationsExperience or coursework in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or administrative management is preferred.Strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy.Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion with sensitive financial information.Comfort working independently with periodic check-ins.Familiarity with nonprofit operations is an asset but not required.ScheduleTime CommitmentApproximately 10-15 hours per month, with increased hours during fundraising periods or year-end reporting cycles.Remote work is acceptable, with occasional virtual or in-person check-ins as needed.Administrative & Office Work , Behind the Scenes , Board Governance , Financial , Special Skills or CertificationApplication TypeBasicOther Opportunities with PAACT Pet and Animal Advocacy Care TeamPAACT is a rapidly growing grassroots nonprofit in Southern Alberta, dedicated to strengthening the bond between pets and their people through compassion, education, and proactive community support.
