In response to the deepening health care crisis in Surrey, the City of Surrey is seeking a Health Care Administrator to directly confront health-care inequities and advocate for meaningful, measurable change.Reporting directly to the City Manager, the Health Care Administrator will serve as the primary municipal lead for addressing health-care service gaps in Surrey. This role will involve cross-sector collaboration, in-depth policy research, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.ResponsibilitiesConduct strategic research, policy analysis, and environmental scanningCoordinate cross-departmental and intergovernmental partnerships and collaborationIdentify and assess non-traditional, community-led, or innovative models to expand access to family doctors in SurreyLiaise with Fraser Health, the BC Ministry of Health, and other relevant bodies to strategically advance work addressing health-care inequities in SurreyLead planning and development of a Municipal Medical Clinic in collaboration with various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, municipal authorities, and community representatives, to achieve project goalsChampion the needs of Surreys residents in healthcare system planning, service delivery, and funding allocationsMonitor, analyze, and publicly report on local healthcare disparities and progress toward resolving themDevelop policies, conduct feasibility assessments, and lead comparative analyses to advance health-related equity goalsWork closely with the Dean of the SFU Medical College at the new Surrey campus to align municipal health priorities with academic and clinical initiativesRequirementsMasters degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, or a related field510 years of experience in healthcare systems planning, administration, or public policy developmentDeep understanding of British Columbias healthcare structure, including the respective roles of municipal and provincial governments, Fraser Health operations, and funding frameworksExperience in intergovernmental relations or healthcare advocacy roles is highly desirableProven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects under tight timelinesExceptional written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting to elected officials and public audiencesAbout destinationone Consultingdestinationone Consulting is a North Americabased strategic recruitment, executive search, and HR advisory firm serving purpose-led organizations across high-impact industries.
