Deputy Joint Test Group Chair (Permanent) Location: Victoria, BC (Band 4.2) Salary: $86,879 $106,185 annually (Base salary determined by Babcock based on skills, experience, and internal equity). Your Role Be part of something big. In this role, you will: Be responsible for the Health and Safety of all direct reports. Support the Joint Test Group (JTG) Chair in authorizing and evaluating verification requirements, including technical data and quality assurance, in a shipyard environment. Assume the role and responsibilities of the JTG Chair during absences and vacations. Provide leadership and oversight of a multi-discipline team of engineers and technologists tasked with executing authorization and evaluation of verification requirements of complex systems. Respond to Program and Project Managers for dynamic program delivery requirements across multiple departments. Identify risk treatments and opportunities for improving Waterfront Engineering Department operations. Establish metrics and key indicators to monitor and control Joint Test Group operations. Qualifications Graduated from a recognized institution with postsecondary education or completed an apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng), Applied Science Technologist (AScT), or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) with the applicable provincial association. 10+ years of relevant technical experience, including: 5+ years in a highintegrity engineering environment. 5+ years managing technical teams (proven leadership). 5+ years in submarine engineering, sustainment, or construction (desirable). 5+ years reviewing complex technical documents. 5+ years with technical requirements verification and validation. 3+ years reactivating ships or submarines following refit/significant work periods. Submarinespecific operational experience or equivalent qualifications in a senior capacity (asset). Systems Engineering experience and certification (asset). Working knowledge of ITAR and security protocols. Superior verbal and written communication skills, including formal reports and presentations.
