Warehouse Supervisor $83,000 - $87,000 Martin-Brower of Canada Co. Position Summary The Warehouse Supervisor oversees warehouse operations of a dedicated McDonalds distributorship with responsibility for planning and scheduling of manpower and equipment for the hourly workforce while ensuring an environment that maximizes employee safety, involvement, and morale, and providing interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Responsibilities Plan and execute daily manpower requirements for current day and week, keeping overtime to a minimum Conduct daily shift meetings, communicating appropriate safety and operational messages, taking suggestions and answering questions Assign daily work duties to warehouse workers ensuring safety, service and productivity and reliability requirements are met Manage work flows efficiently, meeting the requirements of the Collective Bargaining Agreement Maintain Syntellic, Paragon, and Xatanet programs (knowledge of these software packages an asset) Create and maintain production schedules and other pertinent information Maintain associated employee bids Maintain statistical information on employees, productivity, reliability Audit weekly payroll entries for warehouse workers Provide training, support, and direction to employees to ensure understanding and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) Oversee quality control for in-house and enroute product Conduct nearmiss, injury, and collision investigations, completing corrective actions promptly and communicating resolutions broadly Communicate across Warehouse, Transportation, and Customer Service departments regarding possible issues impacting customers or each other Review service provider performance to ensure service and quality requirements are met and cost controls are met Perform supervisory functions, following up with warehouse workers while holding employees accountable through recognition and discipline Demonstrate leadership through effective teamwork and a positive attitude Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the company Participate in training, inspection, investigation, and continuous improvement programs Collect and record statistical information for reporting purposes Ensure compliance with industry, company, and sanitation standards, including ensuring physical plant and transportation equipment are safe and meet legislated requirements Ensure operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Driver Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulations Other projects or duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in business, engineering, logistics or related field Ideally have three to five years experience in high-volume, food service, unionized distribution, or logistics One to three years of progressively responsible supervisory experience Strong computer software skills, e.g., MS Office Experience with routing and onboard software, a strong asset Leadership skills required Integrative thinker with excellent problemsolving skills Strong work ethic, ability to multitask in a highpressure environment Attention to detail and organizational skills High initiative, selfmotivation Strong, interactive team player Excellent timemanagement skills, ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to produce accurate and timely reports Excellent communication and presentation skills, verbal and written Must pass a postoffer background check Physical Demands and Work Environment Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
