Essential Duties and Responsibilities Read shipper to ascertain the correct product number, quantity and shipping instructions. Pick goods, pack safely and load truck properly to avoid damage during transit, as per operating guidelines. Prepare Bills of Lading, post weights, number of pieces, carrier, and any special instructions, as required. Arrange for carrier to pick up and/or deliver. Check in-coming and out-going goods. Report any discrepancies to department lead. Ensure all in-coming goods are distributed to proper location, stored in a safe manner and inventory updated. Participate and produce new method improvements continuously. Maintain a healthy and safe environment by keeping the work area clean, materials positioned correctly and following safe operating procedures. Conduct workplace equipment inspection daily. Perform Cycle Count counter duty. Check and report all discrepancies before updating inventory records, to department lead. Follow the given instruction to load goods into the trailer. Operate hand pallet truck and electric operated walkie to move material within the warehouse and inside the truck during loading/unloading. Perform data entries in Bobrick Enterprise System as required. Assist production departments with material handling. Participate and support in any assigned projects/charters/events to meet company goals and budgets. Perform other duties as assigned. Education And/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree; and one to two years related in Shipping and Receiving experience. Must have good knowledge of applicable traffic and transportation regulations, modern material handling and storage methods. Good understanding of inventory control technique, including the use of computer based order management and location of inventory. Familiar with UPS and parcel post meters preferred. Familiar with operating motorized pallet truck. Must have knowledge of shop and safety practices. Must process excellent interpersonal skills. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend operating materials and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Certicates, Licenses, Registrations Current fork truck license preferred. Valid driving license for company van would be an asset. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly slide and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
