Job Description As a Field Ornithologist at MKO, you will join the largest fulltime professional ornithology team in Ireland, conducting surveys across wind energy, transport, residential and flood relief schemes. Your data will inform project design, impact assessments and constraint reports, working alongside experienced ornithologists in diverse habitats and encountering emblematic and rare species such as hen harrier, merlin and whitetailed eagle. What Were Looking For In You Qualification in Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Science or a related discipline with field and identification skills to undertake the role. Fulltime permanent contract with opportunity to grow within a team renowned for avian ecology in Ireland. Keen interest and strong bird identification skills, driven to work in a multidisciplinary consultancy. Field surveyor with love of outdoors, ability to work independently in remote locations and a collaborative, flexible approach. Good IT, GIS and reportwriting skills with competency in managing digital datasets. Demonstrates behaviours aligned with our values: Quality, Flexibility, Teamwork, Confidence and Integrity. Full manual drivers licence. Field test may be required as part of the interview process.
