Salary CAD $41.42 - $59.52 per hour Job Summary We are currently hiring for a Casual Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Nurse to join our Primary Health Care team at Peace Arch Hospital located in White Rock, B.C. Benefits Four weeks of vacation to start Comprehensive 100% employer paid benefits Immediate enrollment in a defined municipal pension plan 87% maternity top-up 50% subsidy on Translink passes Responsibilities Conduct nursing assessments and evaluate patients functional status and risk factors, develop a care plan, and collaborate with the health care team. Provide nursing supervision during exercise sessions, offering psychosocial support and monitoring patients for abnormalities. Provide direct nursing care by checking vital signs, applying telemetry, interpreting rhythms, and modifying care plans as needed. Lead response to complications during exercise by initiating emergency care, calling 911, and documenting incidents. Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health maintenance, and health promotion strategies. Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, participating in conferences and meetings. Maintain patient records, documenting patient information, observations, interventions, and teaching outcomes. Identify learning needs, review them with the Manager, and engage in activities to meet these needs. Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, generating recommendations and conducting safety audits. Act as a clinical resource/support person, explaining nursing decisions and participating in orientation and continuing education. Provide input to the Manager regarding policies, procedures, and operational requirements. Operate, maintain, and clean related equipment, referring repairs as necessary. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Graduation from an approved school of Nursing. Two (2) years recent related clinical experience in a cardiac rehabilitation environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Current CPR Level C or equivalent and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to teach and coach patients and families. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective collaboration with coworkers, physicians, and other health care staff. Strong conflict management abilities. Adaptability to new or unexpected events. Organizational and prioritization skills. Proficiency with medical equipment and supplies. Knowledge of specialized patient population treatment techniques. Technical competence with related equipment and software applications. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
