Provide direct supervision, leadership and education to other members of the healthcare team. Acts as a resource advocate for residents, families, and staff. Promotes the values, goals, and philosophy of the Home. Responsibilities Embody our personcentred living philosophy Develop and update care plans based on residents health needs and status changes. Coordinate with healthcare personnel, agencies, families, and maintain positive relationships with staff and residents. Supervise unit activities, direct and evaluate PSWs and RPNs, and take charge as needed. Ensure care aligns with the Residents Bill of Rights. Understand and support quality indicators, participating in their improvement. Manage nursing supplies and equipment efficiently. Address resident and family concerns promptly following Home policies. Conduct shift rounds to monitor care. Process physician orders, administer medications and treatments per policies, and document errors and omissions. Perform other duties as assigned or outlined in the Job Task Inventory. Qualifications Current RN registration or equivalent with College of Nurses of Ontario (Bill 60 exemption). Basic CPR certification. Experience in longterm care preferred. Collaborative team player with strong communication skills. Knowledge of RAIMDS; AIS certification required within one year if not already held. Focus on residents emotional wellbeing and positive interactions. Ability to meet legal requirements while promoting rights and reducing risk. Frenchspeaking considered an asset Compliance & Health Requirements A current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) completed within the past six months, or willingness to obtain one. TB test results dated within the last six months, or within 14 days of hire; alternatively, a chest Xray completed within the last year, in accordance with Public Health guidelines. Proof of all required vaccinations must be provided. Staying 'up to date' with recommended vaccines is strongly encouraged. Requirements are subject to change based on Employer directives.
