YVRs Legal and Corporate Services Department is an integral part of YVR, responsible for ensuring that our operations comply with laws and regulations, managing the organizations legal risks, and protecting the organizations interests. Position overview Are you passionate about law and seeking an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and close-knit legal team? We're currently looking for a driven and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to join our legal department on a full-time, term basis. Reporting to the Director, Legal Services, this role offers an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting our legal team in various administrative tasks through January 2027. Key responsibilities Assisting our team of solicitors in the preparation of legal documents and correspondence Providing word processing assistance to the legal department including formatting documents Providing administrative support to the department including filing, scheduling meetings, managing appointments, processing invoices and expenses, and budgeting Liaising with internal departments and external service providers Managing the day-to-day operation of the document management system including opening electronic files, organizing documents and files, closing files, and archiving Advancing team initiatives with the Legal Services team made up of lawyers, paralegals and clerks Key qualifications Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as legal assistant or administrative assistant at a law firm or in-house legal department, ideally supporting a solicitor practice, supplemented by a legal or administrative assistant diploma or certificate program, or higher; or an equivalent combination of training and experience Proficient in Microsoft 365 including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage a variety of projects simultaneously Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to develop innovative solutions in legal support tasks. Experience with a law firm document management system is an asset Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative and exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive, highly confidential matters This is an onsite position at our office located in Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, BC - Monday to Friday business hours. This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants.
