Huckleberry Midwives is an Indigenous led midwifery team offering culturally relevant full spectrum urban Indigenous midwifery care on the unceded territories of the xmkym (Musqueam), Swxw7mesh (Squamish), and slilwta (Tsleil-Waututh) known as Vancouver. Over the last few years we have built a team of Indigenous and nonIndigenous/Setter midwives. Our work is always Indigenous led, informed, and guided and we hope to expand our team.Ideally we are looking for a Registered Midwife who is interested in covering a parental leave for 1 year, with longer term possible and we are flexible to negotiation. Currently, our schedule offers a mix of shorter call stretches 2448 hours. We have 3 clinic days a week, typically 94pm. Our team meets monthly for case reviews and team planning.Our privileges are held at BC Womens Hospital (Level 1) with specialized recognition for our role in Urban Indigenous Midwifery Outreach Program (UIMOP) which includes additional Out of catchment exceptions.
