Full-Time Security Guard - Smiths Falls Hospital Position: |Full-Time Security Guard - Smiths Falls Hospital Site: |Smiths Falls Hospital - 60 Cornelia St W Hours: |Continental Nights Only Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours Payrate: | $21.69/hour Internal posting date: December 29, 2025 Internal closing date: January 6, 2026 External closing date: January 12, 2026 Benefits of joining Paladin: Opportunities for training and professional development Competitive Salary and benefits package Free Uniforms Security License reimbursement Dry cleaning & hemming/tailoring allowance Work today, get paid todaydaily pay available Additional perks JOB DUTIES Maintain surveillance of facility and persons Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required Utilize site radios and computer applications for communicating / reporting site activities and incidents Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when required Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations Write comprehensive reports and maintain proper records using effective communication skills Able to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel Basic knowledge of security procedures, handling possible violent behaviours, and non- defensive communication. Able to follow, and enforce safety codes, campus regulations, and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation Able to handle private and confidential information with a high amount of discretion Present a professional image to the public Adhere to our Code of Ethics in performing job requirements Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures Moderate physical activity including standing and/or walking for extended periods of time Valid Security License for the province of Ontario Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider) Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination) A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2) How to get Hired in Healthcare: Immunization Record Form: Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis are required at the time of hire.
