Job Description: The Program Assistant is appointed by the Executive Director in cooperation with the local Director. The Program Assistant is directly responsible to the local Director who serves as their supervisor. Each Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the Director in the planning and implementation of the programs in their community. PLEASE NOTE: This job is only available for applicants between the ages of as per the Service Canada Summer job requirements. Each Program Assistant is responsible for development in the following areas: Staff Will attend team meetings with staff on a regular basis. Will maintain communication with the local Director informing them of program concerns and situations. Youth Programming In consultation with the local Director and other staff, will participate in the development and implementation of the program facilitating the use of new ideas and materials. Will seek to have a current understanding of the needs, challenges and opportunities of the youth involved in the programs. Will provide leadership for the program staff in implementing the youth programs. Will be significantly involved in the local program. Administration Will develop and maintain a resource file for program activities and ideas. Will oversee health and safety requirements pertaining to the program and keep the work area clean. Will attend the staff meetings and provide a written weekly ministry report, time sheet, checklist and evaluation form. Will understand and implement the current Youth Unlimited YFC Southwestern Ontario Staff Policy Manual. Will understand and implement the current Summer Staff Handbook. Will understand and implement the current program. Will participate in fundraising activities. Personal Will strive to maintain a healthy balance between ministry and personal time Will attend chapter-wide staff meetings.
