Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist customers in selecting and fitting eyewear, provide exceptional customer service, and support the optical department''s daily operations. The Optician will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the high standards of our optical practice. Duties Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that meet their needs and preferences Take precise measurements for lens fitting and ensure proper alignment of eyewear Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care Conduct laboratory tasks such as lens ordering, mounting, and adjustments Verify prescriptions using medical terminology and ensure accuracy in all fittings Manage retail sales transactions efficiently and accurately Maintain an organized optical dispensary, including inventory management of frames and lenses Support retail management by ensuring a welcoming environment and providing excellent customer service Utilize Epic or similar electronic health record systems to document patient interactions and prescriptions Requirements Prior experience with optical products, laboratory procedures, or retail sales is highly desirable Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is preferred Experience with laboratory work involving lens cutting, edging, or mounting is advantageous Strong sales skills with the ability to educate customers about product options and benefits Familiarity with retail management principles to maintain a well-organized optical department Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional customer service Excellent communication skills to explain technical information clearly to patients Experience with Epic or similar healthcare software systems is a plus This position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your skills in optical care while helping patients see clearly.
