Position Summary We are currently seeking a Building Operator to join our team and support the daily operation and maintenance of a large commercial building. This role is well suited for someone who is early in their building operations career and looking to grow, while also welcoming applications from experienced operators with a strong technical background. The successful candidate will assist in the operation of mechanical systems such as chillers, boilers, and HVAC equipment, and will work alongside a team to ensure the building operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Key Responsibilities Assist with the operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of building systems including chillers, boilers, HVAC, pumps, and related equipment. Perform regular building and equipment inspections and report any issues or deficiencies. Support preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs under guidance. Monitor the Building Automation System (BAS) and respond to alarms or system notifications. Assist with coordinating service contractors when required. Help maintain maintenance records, logs, and reports. Follow all applicable Ontario safety standards, codes, and workplace procedures. Qualifications & Experience Previous experience in building operations, facilities maintenance, or a related technical field is and asset but no required. Candidates with strong hands-on experience in large commercial or institutional buildings are encouraged to apply. Basic understanding of HAVC, boilers, chillers, or mechanical systems is preferred. Willingness to learn and grow technical skills. Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) JCI Metasys an asset. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams programs is considered a plus, but no required. Requirements Valid Ontario driver''s license. Reliable personal vehicle to commute to and from the building. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills. Physically able to perform maintenance related tasks, including working in mechanical rooms and lifting as required.
