JOB SUMMARY: The Pro Shop Associate at Coyote Rock Golf provides friendly, professional, and welcoming customer service to all golfers and guests. This position supports daily pro shop operations, including processing sales, managing tee times, handling cash and card transactions, using a POS system and maintaining a clean and organized retail environment. As the first point of contact for visitors, the Pro Shop Associate plays a key role in shaping the guest experience and representing the values of Sugar Cane Development Corporation (SCDC) and the Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN). The ideal candidate is reliable, personable, and customer-focused, with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude toward teamwork and service excellence. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet and assist customers with check-in, tee-time reservations, and pro shop purchases. Process sales transactions, including green fees, merchandise, and memberships. Provide golfers with course information, including rules, policies, and conditions. Maintain a clean and organized pro shop, including restocking merchandise. Assist with rental club distribution and golf cart management. Answer phone inquiries and provide friendly customer service. Work with the course management team to ensure smooth daily operations. Promote special events, lessons, and promotions to customers. QUALIFICATIONS: Education No formal education required. High school diploma or equivalent considered an asset. Valid Class 5 BC Driver''s Licence (preferred). Experience Previous customer service or retail experience (preferred). Knowledge of golf industry and customer expectations (preferred). Comfortable handling cash, card transactions, and using a point-of-sale (POS) system. Knowledge Basic understanding of customer service or retail operations. Knowledge of golf or a willingness to learn about the game and its rules. Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash handling procedures. Skills & Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally and respectfully with guests, coworkers, and community members. Demonstrated customer-service mindset, including the ability to respond to guest needs, questions, or concerns with courtesy, patience, and problem-solving skills. WORKING CONDITIONS Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Work takes place in a recreational golf course environment, including both outdoor grounds and limited indoor areas. Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and physical activity throughout the shift. Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs may be required. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts based on seasonal and operational needs. Occasional extended hours or special assignments may be required during tournaments, events, or peak operational periods.
