OPEN COMPETITION - Term Position Job Title: Training & Development Lead Department: Human Resources Location: Enoch Cree Nation Administration Building Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time (40 hours/week) Salary: Based on experience and qualifications Application Deadline: Jan 16, 2026 About the Role The Training and Development Lead will play a key role in supporting the personal and professional development of employees by designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that reflect both organizational needs and First Nations values. This role blends modern learning strategies with cultural knowledge to build capacity, leadership, and skills across departments. Key Responsibilities Training Strategy & Development Design and implement a comprehensive training and development framework aligned with organizational goals and cultural values. Conduct needs assessments to identify current and future learning requirements. Develop culturally relevant training content and tools for in-person, online, and blended learning formats. Program Management Develop, implement, deliver and coordinate onboarding, job-specific training, leadership development, and wellness-related programs. Partner with internal departments, external consultants, and First Nations knowledge keepers to deliver training sessions. Oversee training records, compliance, and reporting using HR systems. Oversee utilization and training for HRIS system throughout the nation. Ensure functionality of the HRIS system is being captured by the organization polices and procedures. Community and Culture Integration Ensure training incorporates Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing. Support cultural safety, anti-racism, and reconciliation efforts through education and awareness initiatives. Capacity Building and Coaching Support managers in developing leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities. Offer guidance on performance improvement and learning plans. Evaluation and Continuous Improvement Monitor the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, outcomes, and KPIs. Adjust programs based on evaluation results and organizational feedback. Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in human resources, Education, Indigenous Studies or a related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in training, learning and development, or organizational development. Experience working with First Nations communities. Certification in instructional design, coaching, or facilitation (CPLP, CTDP, etc) Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training design. Familiarity with Indigenous cultural protocols and community engagement practices. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills. Knowledge of HRIS and LMS (Learning Management Systems). Preferably UKG. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-cultural settings.
