Classification: Lump Sum Payment Employee group: PSAC Job title: Senior Residence Assistant Department:Student Services, Residence Hall programs Wage: $4826.27/term Hours of work: Primarily work evenings and weekends. Approximately 6to 11 on call shifts per month Start date: August 17, 2026 Length of appointment: August 17, 2026 April 30, 2027 Date issued: January 7, 2026 Application deadline: 4:30 p.m. January 30, 2026 Duties: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule normally for 2/7 evenings and being the lead contact for overnight incidents on assigned nights with escalation points for assistance and perform RA duties as well. Under the direction of the Residence Coordinator, coordinate orientation and year-end events Supporting the Residence Coordinator and assist with leading the RHPO student staff team and with team development Assist RHPO student staff on community management and programming initiatives Communicate with RHPO student staff, including sharing their weekly schedule (minimum 3 hrs/week) and other relevant duties as assigned Qualifications/Experience: Strong study habits and demonstrating strong time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a sound understanding of the university experience Ability to show compassion and support through challenges that students, including student staff, may encounter Ability to use sound independent judgment, take initiative, be creative, and to effectively lead a team Must be a full-time Brandon University Student in good academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the term prior to being selected as a Senior Residence Assistant Mental health training is strongly desired Minimum of 8 months of post-secondary studies and Minimum of 4 months of Residence Assistant experience **It is a requirement of this position to live in Brandon University Residence to fulfill the duties of the role.** *Note: Collective Agreement currently being negotiated.* To Apply: Interested applicants can submit a resume and a letter detailing their qualifications to: Katie Whelpton, Dean of Students, Brandon University is committed to equity, welcomes diversity, and hires on the basis of merit.
