OverviewJoin to apply for the Security Shift Manager, Great Canadian Casino Vancouver role at Great Canadian Entertainment.Under the general direction of the Manager, Security, this position is responsible for overseeing security operations on a shift basis while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. This role includes assisting with the implementation of security initiatives, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, motivating and leading by example, and contributing to a learning environment. Provides input to the Manager for Performance Evaluations and actively participates in recruitment and hiring processes.Ensures adherence to the Companys policies and procedures, supports Great Canadians learning environment, and maintains a safe and welcoming work environment for all staff.ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership, direction and mentoring to the security operation on a shift basis, including input for team member performance objectives and evaluations.Oversee security operations on a shift basis; may schedule team members in some locations.Implement security strategic plans as directed.Respond to and resolve security issues as escalated; de-brief on critical incidents; escalate issues as necessary for resolution.Review inspection reports and take appropriate action.Provide support in the administration of access/key control systems.Conduct training for security operations; recommend training opportunities and efficiencies.May assist with internal investigations by providing documentation and conducting interviews.May provide security support for personal protection and venue security to Theatre Operations.Monitor, document and prepare statements and/or reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activities.Prepare and submit monthly Staff Resource Planning Proposals for special events and implement once approved.Liaise and communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and team members).Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.Perform other duties as assigned or directed.Education And QualificationsPost Secondary education or suitable combination of education and experience an asset.Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, overnights and holidays.Minimum 3 years of experience in security/surveillance.Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.Guard Force Training an asset; ASIS Certification an asset.Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication.Fluency in other languages an asset.Must be willing to recertify every 3 years for Use of Force Certification.Computer literacy in MS Office.Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License.Serving it Right Certification.Work Environment ConsiderationsRegular office environment and non-traditional work hours will be required.Whats in it for you?We have an inclusive and collaborative working environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and celebrates success.We provide you with the tools and technology needed to delight your clients.Youll get to work with and learn from diverse industry leaders, who have hailed from top organizations around the world.Freedom to Innovate: supports new and better ways to be successful.Be your Authentic Self: environment that values diversity as a source of strength.This isnt your typical 'corporate' job.
