Technical Trainer Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Technical Trainer for its Mississauga, ON location. Under the direction of the Training Centre Manager, the Technical Trainer is responsible for assessing the development needs of Brandts Transportation dealership Parts and Service technicians in the areas of Paccar, Peterbilt and Cummins service operations. Duties and Responsibilities Identify sources for and develop instructional and evaluation materials for Brandts Service Technicians in the areas of Paccar, Peterbilt and Cummins. Implement the Service Technician Development Program, including identifying employee development needs, locating and coordinating professional quality curriculum, and developing schedules and delivery of training activities. Monitor, report on, and drive achievement of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training metrics. Align employee development activities with continuous improvement in quality, lean, health and safety, and organizational performance by recording, monitoring, reporting, and integrating feedback and data. Contribute to and collaborate on the development and implementation of the companys overall technician development paths, plans and schedules. Development Needs Work with Operations, Brandts Warranty, and T&T corporate product group and OEMs to document development priorities. Document and validate program plans to address development priorities. Identify resources for program plans. Monitor resource allocations and plan progress. Adjust plans based on needs. Instruction Delivery and Instructional Materials Deliver training as a Certified Dealer Instructor or in-house subject matter expert. Ensure delivery and scheduling is efficient and maximizes instructor time. Develop professional quality, instructionally sound educational curriculum that enables students to efficiently, effectively and safely operate, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, repair and evaluate heavy duty mobile equipment and associated systems. Identify sources for and help develop professional quality classroom, handson and online training courses and programs, and evaluation materials. Utilize corporate systems such as Brandtnet for material development. Ensure evaluations (tests, handson demonstrations, etc.) measure trainee competence. Maintain an uptodate catalogue of program materials. Use MS Office applications to manage course material. Program Implementation Schedule training delivery in collaboration with Service Managers, Supervisors/Foremen, Training Centre Manager, Training Coordinators and Training Administrators. Communicate accurate training schedules via Brandtnet or other means. Ensure trainees complete prerequisite requirements. Document and report trainee evaluation scores, attendance and performance against metrics. Prepare and distribute Certificates of Completion and arrange program completion recognition. Coordinate delivery of other required training. Utilize thirdparty systems such as OEM learning management systems. Continuous Improvement Participate in ongoing audits of program effectiveness. Ensure training materials and programs are relevant and current. Ensure communications and presentations meet Brandts brand guidelines. Meet internal and external training standards for curriculum and reporting. Gather feedback from students and integrate it to continuously improve content and delivery. Other Support operations efforts by analysing and responding to organizational development needs. Follow all company policies, procedures and directives related to training.
