OverviewConifex Timber Inc. is hiring a Safety Coordinator in Mackenzie, BC. This is a full-time role (MondayFriday) with standard business hours and occasional flexibility based on operational needs.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and support the companys Health and Safety program with a focus on documentation control, training, orientations, audits, and continuous improvement.Collaborate with operations teams, supervisors, and safety personnel to implement and monitor safety systems and foster a behavior-based safety culture.Manage safety documentation, develop and update policies, conduct internal audits, coordinate hazard assessments, and assist with investigations and inspections.Support training initiatives, first aid compliance, and claims management; advise the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.Coordinate safety tracking and auditing of processes; assist with WSBC and claims management; weekly and month-end safety statistics reporting.Assist supervisors and superintendents with program development, tools, and skills, including inspections, investigations, observations, crew meetings, hazard assessments, job training, and new worker orientation.Qualifications2+ years of experience in an occupational health and safety role, preferably in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments.A diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field (CRSP or other designations considered an asset).Strong knowledge of OH&S regulations, hazard assessments, and safety systems.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to lead training and coach others.Strong computer literacy; proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety tracking systems (DATS, etc.).Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced setting.Self-directed, collaborative, and able to maintain a safety-first culture.Proactive in developing OH&S programs, tools, and training; capable of delivering effective safety presentations.BenefitsTeam environment; comprehensive health benefits including an annual health spending account.Excellent pension plan and opportunities for professional development and career growth.Competitive salaries.LocationMackenzie, BCAbout the companyConifex Timber Inc. 980-700 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, BC V7Y 1B6.
