Digital and Social Supervisor Location: 11738 Kingsway NW, Edmonton Closing Date: Until Suitable Candidate Found Position Status: Full-time (40 hours/week), Permanent Reporting to the Senior Manager of Communications & Citizen Engagement, the Digital and Social Supervisor will oversee the Otipemisiwak Mtis Government''s digital presence, ensuring content is delivered timely, accurately, and in line with organizational priorities. The successful candidate will manage the social media calendar, coordinate web updates, and support the digital team in producing content that reflects the voice, identity, and strategic direction of the Otipemisiwak Mtis Government. The Digital and Social Supervisor will be able to balance planning with real-time responsiveness, manage competing deadlines, and guide the team to deliver consistent, high-quality digital content. Key Responsibilities Oversee the Otipemsiwak Mtis Government''s social media presence, including content planning, scheduling, posting, and analytics. Manage the ''global'' communications calendar, ensuring priorities across all departments are clearly mapped and executed. Review content requests and assign work to the appropriate team members based on timelines, capacity, and strategic value. Work with writers, designers, videographers, and project leads to develop coordinated digital campaigns. Ensure website content stays current, accurate, and aligned with brand and messaging guidelines. Review and approve web and social content prior to posting. Support the development of web pages and digital layouts in collaboration with internal and external partners. Monitor platform performance and prepare monthly analytics summaries and recommendations. Establish guidelines, templates, and workflows to improve the efficiency and consistency of digital output. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and partners and foster and maintain positive and collaborative relationships. Collaborate on department staffing responsibilities. Mentor team members and provide effective leadership through feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations. Participate in and support the overall strategic direction of the department and Otipemisiwak Mtis Government. Other duties as required or assigned. Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of social media platforms, audience behaviour, and content trends. Solid knowledge of website best practices, accessibility, and user-focused design. Strong technical skills and experience with survey tools and engagement platforms. Ability to manage a content calendar and prioritize high volumes of incoming requests. Experience reviewing and editing digital content for clarity, accuracy, tone, and visual consistency. Analytical mindset with ability to interpret platform insights and adjust strategies as needed. Strong organizational, time management, planning and execution skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment, including a demonstrated ability to be adaptable and flexible to potentially changing needs. Strong leadership skills with a recognized strength in leading and engaging teams and creating a culture that promotes the development of individual and organizational capacity. Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of building collaborative partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict confidentiality of sensitive information. High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism. Knowledge of Mtis history, culture, and issues affecting Mtis people. An in-depth understanding of the Otipemisiwak Mtis Government and Mtis culture is an asset. Qualifications Post-secondary education in communications, digital media, marketing, or a related field. Minimum three (3) years of experience in digital communications, social media management, or web content coordination. Supervisory or Team Lead experience is preferred. Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset. Other Requirements Position is based in Edmonton; in-office presence is required. Ability to work a regular schedule of Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 4:30 PM. Must be willing to travel within Alberta and work irregular hours, on occasion, to meet departmental needs. Reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 Driver''s License.
