Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Optician (license not mandatory)/ optical tech to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of optical principles and laboratory practices, with a passion for delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in ensuring that optical products meet the required specifications and standards, contributing to the overall success of our operations. Responsibilities Operate laboratory equipment to fabricate and finish optical lenses according to prescribed specifications. Conduct quality control checks on finished products to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with optometrists and retail staff to understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions. Write job orders accurately, with detail and communicate with labs/suppliers about lenses and frames (quality control redos/ back-orders/ delays etc.,) in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records of production processes, inventory invoices, and equipment maintenance. Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with team members and healthcare professionals. Stay updated on advancements in optical technology and laboratory techniques. Requirements Proven experience in an optical or laboratory setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology related to optics is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of retail management practices, particularly in the context of optical sales. Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
