Job Title Principal Technical Business Analyst (Agile Digital Modernization) Location Remote (Canada) | Occasional in Edmonton, AB About the Role We''re seeking a Principal Technical Business Analyst to lead requirements analysis, solution validation, and process transformation for large-scale digital modernization initiatives. You''ll be a critical bridge between business, product, and technical teamstranslating complex operational needs into scalable, cloud-ready digital services. As part of a multi-disciplinary Agile delivery team, you''ll help replace legacy registry systems with modern, human-centered, cloud-based platforms. This is a senior consulting role that combines analytical depth, system understanding, and product ownership in equal measure. Key Responsibilities Lead requirements-gathering workshops, stakeholder interviews, and system walk-throughs to capture business and functional needs. Conduct gap analyses between current-state legacy processes and future-state digital solutions. Create user stories, personas, process flows, and data models that drive Agile delivery. Define and maintain business requirements, use-case documentation, and workflow specifications. Collaborate with solution architects and developers to design IT solutions aligned with strategic goals. Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)including plan creation, test-case design, and defect triage. Develop and maintain non-technical documentation, training materials, and procedural guides. Partner with security and privacy teams to address data-protection and compliance requirements. Assist with project planning, scheduling, risk tracking, and progress reporting. Promote Agile best practices and foster a continuous-improvement mindset within the team. Experience: 15+ years progressive experience in business systems analysis, digital transformation, or enterprise modernization. 10+ years translating business requirements into detailed functional/technical documentation. 8+ years documenting user requirements, workflows, and process maps for complex IT systems. 7+ years facilitating business-process design, optimization, and re-engineering workshops. 6+ years coordinating UAT and QA validation within Agile or hybrid environments. 6+ years writing clear technical and business communication for executive and delivery audiences. Proven success operating within Agile Scrum or scaled-Agile teams (JIRA, Azure DevOps). Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills 5+ years'' experience evaluating policies, programs, and digital initiatives using data-driven insights. 5+ years supporting solution design and implementation of enterprise-scale IT systems. 4+ years analyzing data flows, system integrations, and architecture diagrams. 4+ years gathering requirements across multi-stakeholder or cross-ministry environments. 4+ years developing project documentation (charters, BRDs, traceability matrices, roadmaps). 3+ years'' experience in registry or land-information modernization programs (asset). Experience exploring multiple design options and contributing to prototype or MVP validation cycles. Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile BA, or SAFe PO/PM are strong assets.
