Position Overview Under the general direction of the Manager, Pharmacy, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Pharmacist is responsible for performing clinical and distributive activities: ensuring that drug therapy ordered for inpatients and outpatients is safe, efficient and effective; clarifying medication orders and intervening when appropriate; verifying drug orders on a patient''s profile; overseeing the processing of prescriptions and sterile products and approving the final products; compounding sterile and extemporaneous products as required; promoting safe medication practices; performing therapeutic drug monitoring on selected patients and educating patients on medication use; assisting in the training/teaching of new pharmacists, support staff, and students, and participating in educational sessions; and performing other related duties as assigned. Experience One (1) to three (3) years hospital pharmacy practice preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) A Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy is required. Pharmacy Residency preferred. Certification/Licensure/Registration Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada Certification required. License to practice in Manitoba required. Qualifications and Skills Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature. Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with other individuals. Mature professional manner.
