Job SummaryThe Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is seeking a Physician Assistant who, under the direction and supervision of a physician, will work as a member of the clinical team to provide care to patients and their families with a responsible and professional approach.QualificationsGraduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program.Certified or eligible to be certified through the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) or certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).Active membership in good standing with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants.Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement and willingness to actively participate in continuous quality improvement activities/initiatives.Demonstrated initiative and ability to prioritize, organize and work independently as well as a team member.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills.Job DutiesCollaborate with all physicians, nurses, professional staff, etc., to ensure quality in patient care.Conduct comprehensive physical and mental assessments of patients and interpret findings. This includes assessment of vital signs and examination of all major body systems (i.e.: psychosis, intoxication, overdose etc.)Request and interpret diagnostic tests (i.e.: laboratory, X-ray, ultrasounds, etc.) and communicate results thoroughly to patients.Acquire health history as appropriate, including patient demographics, history of an illness or injury, past medical, surgical, family and psychosocial history, medications, allergies and systems review.Formulate and implement treatment plans while monitoring patients progress and response to treatment.Develop ethical, professional and trustworthy relationships with patients, families and the health care team.Collect blood samples, body secretions and body fluids.Participate in research and academic initiatives.Provide patient care in a manner that is consistent with SLMHC mission and reflects core values.Salary$51.62 $60.73 (Salary and Benefits in accordance with qualifications and experience)Closing DateWhen filled.Competition No.NADMIN 20-24Please quote on your application. #J-18808-Ljbffr
