Education: Other trades certificate or diploma Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years Work setting Remote location Tasks Assist in performing routine maintenance work and repair to ship''s engine, machinery and auxiliary equipment Clean engine parts and keep engine room clean Clean, chip and paint deck surfaces Handle mooring lines, and splice and repair ropes, wire cables and cordage Lubricate moving parts of engine, machinery and auxiliary equipment Monitor engine, machinery and equipment indicators Operate and maintain off-loading liquid pumps and valves Operate, maintain and repair deck equipment Stand watch and steer ship or self-propelled vessel under the direction of an officer Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Transport Canada Security Awareness Training for All Seafarers Transport Canada engine room rating Certification Marine Emergency Duties Certificate Security and safety Basic security clearance Criminal record check Drug test Screening questions Are you authorized to work in Canada?
