This job is full-time permanent .Overview:Reporting to the Sawmill Manager, you will be part of a results-oriented team whose members are encouraged to exceed expectations.Ensure application of highest Safety and Environmental standards for sawmill operationsProvide leadership, technical support and coaching trade personnel and peers while developing and maintaining positive employee relationsCollaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel to plan, schedule and supervise maintenance and capital work as we transition from project construction into daily operation activitiesUtilize the Maintenance & Supply Chain Best Practices in conjunction with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for processing work orders, purchase requisitions, weekly schedules, PM's, and updating the equipment databasePerform periodic inspections of equipment and systems to observe operating conditions and need for repair or adjustmentAs requires supervise repairs/projects carried out by sub-contractors and ensure quality of work and adherence to deadlines through rigorous follow-upsPlan and control expenditures in accordance with the operating budget of the departmentVerify the availability of parts, materials and special tools required for executionEnsure compliance to internal and external policies, procedures and regulations with respect to the Health and Safety of the maintenance employees and site contractorsYour profile:Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Technologist, Trades certification or equivalentA minimum of 5 to 8 years of equivalent experienceYour uncompromising approach to safety is recognizedDemonstrated progression in leadership rolesExcellent communication skills (spoken and written); bilingualism an assetAbility to work as part of a team, to communicate with all levels of the organization and to adapt quickly to changeStrong analytical, organizational and problem solving skillsAbility to assume responsibility, manage multiple priorities and collaboratively drive issues to closureAbility to make appropriate decisions rapidly on the basis of experience and judgment even when you have incomplete information and/or you are under pressureStrong attention to detail combined with the ability to see the big pictureIn-depth knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and CMMS and solid computer skillsA self-motivated individual who will work towards Reliability ExcellenceKnowledge of sawmill and planer mill equipmentOur Offer:Competitive salary and annual bonus incentive planMinimum 3 weeks of vacation and 3 floating holidays; depending on experienceFull range of group insurance from day oneDefined-contribution pension plan with generous employer participation from the first day of workEmployee and family assistance programEducation assistance programWork Travel Assistance ProgramRelocation assistance to the community of Thunder BayA workplace based on respect, diversity, and inclusionDomtar is firmly committed to placing greater emphasis on the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion to empower all employees to reach their full potential.
