Description A new and exciting opportunity exists at Mainroad Lower Mainland Contracting LP (Service Area 06) for a self-motivated individual to join the team as a Road Manager (Night Shift). This position will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of highway maintenance operations during overnight hours. This is an excluded, salaried position that will report to the Operations Manager and will be based out of the Lower Mainland, BC (Cloverdale, Port Kells or Delta yard). The successful candidates shall have the following qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience in highway maintenance, heavy civil maintenance, construction or a related field. Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Supervisory/management experience in a unionized environment is preferred. Valid Class 5 Drivers license (required) with a clean drivers abstract. Class 3 Drivers license is preferred. Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in construction, engineering or a related field is In-depth knowledge of road and bridge maintenance standards, equipment and best practices. Strong understanding of provincial occupational health and safety regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and problemsolving skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. Strong proficiency with computer systems and maintenance management software. Proficiency may be tested. Strong communication (both written and oral) and organizational skills, with the ability to work with various personality types. Flexibility to accept new job Reliable, positive attitude and willing/able to work in a fastpaced team Job duties include, but are not limited to the following: Overseeing and managing all aspects of work performed during night shift (with crews of approximately 40 workers). Ensuring all maintenance activitiesincluding road repairs, snow clearing, salting, signage, and emergency responseare conducted according to schedule and company policy. Monitoring the condition of highways and responding promptly to incidents or hazards, coordinating with relevant authorities as needed. Reviewing work orders, inspecting completed tasks, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date. Ensuring all employees are competent and are adhering to the training they received, for the tasks that they have been assigned. Conducting nightly briefings and debriefings to communicate expectations and report on progress. Collaborating with Dayshift Operations to create detailed work schedules. Coordinating largescale maintenance programs such as Grind & Pave and Ditching. Ensuring compliance with provincial, and municipal regulations, including environmental and occupational health and safety standards. Managing the allocation and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and materials required for night operations. Monitoring and approving digital time records, overtime, and shift reports. Serving as the primary contact for night shift operations, liaising with day shift managers, emergency services, and clients as necessary.
