Category Manager Food Service & GroceryPosition SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and commercially focused Category Manager Food Service & Grocery to support a national convenience store chain headquartered in downtown Toronto. This onsite role is responsible for managing and growing assigned food service and grocery categories across a multi-store network.The Category Manager will play a key role in driving sales, margin, and customer engagement through strategic assortment planning, pricing, promotions, and vendor partnerships in a fast-paced convenience retail environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage assigned food service and grocery categories across a national store networkDevelop and execute category strategies aligned with company growth objectivesAnalyze sales, margin, inventory, and performance trends to optimize assortment and pricingSource new products and manage national and regional vendor relationshipsLead vendor negotiations, costing reviews, and promotional funding discussionsPlan and execute promotions, seasonal programs, and new product launchesCollaborate with operations, marketing, merchandising, and supply chain teamsMonitor inventory levels to reduce shrink, outofstocks, and overstock situationsTrack key category KPIs and prepare performance reports and recommendationsStay current on convenience retail, food service, and grocery trendsQualifications & Experience25 years of experience in category management, buying, or merchandisingExperience in convenience retail, grocery, food service, or CPG strongly preferredStrong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and reporting toolsExperience managing vendors and negotiating pricing and programsExcellent communication, organizational, and relationshipbuilding skillsAbility to thrive in a fastpaced, onsite corporate environmentCommercial and financial acumenVendor and stakeholder managementStrategic planning and executionAttention to detail with a resultsoriented mindsetCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $50,000 annuallyBonus: Performancebased incentive structureBenefits: Health and related benefits available after three months of employmentOpportunity for growth within a national retail organization #J-18808-Ljbffr
