The student will assist and support project management efforts by working with Facilities Maintenance Project Coordinators and Supervisors.ResponsibilitiesPropose and assist with ideas that provide value for money to reduce energy costsResearch innovative solutions to reduce carbon footprintContribute to cross divisional and department energy management meetingsDevelop and write project business justifications, case studies and contract documentsFacilitate problemsolving discussions and liaise with site staffUndertake site work (as permitted during pandemic times) in support of energy monitoring, funding, water rebate programs and other cost recovery initiativesMaintain the Citys utility management database and provide reports from the softwareSelection CriteriaMANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:Student must be enrolled in any University or College CoOp. Proof of enrollment letter will be requested prior to job offer.Student must currently be enrolled in an Engineering program (Electrical / Mechanical / Engineering, Environmental / Management Studies)Safety boots are required.OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:Strong report writing, data analysis, organizational and problemsolving skillsPresent and communicate complex concepts and data in an easily understood mannerHighly collaborative with the ability to exchange ideas and work in a team environmentIndependent worker with capability to manage projectsValid drivers license with a vehicle available for site visits an assetProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced spreadsheet skills (functions, macros, etc.)Canada Summer Jobs Program: These positions are funded through Canada Summer Jobs Program (2026) and all applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria.
