Hatch is seeking an Electrical Engineering Student starting May2026 for a 12 or 16month work term in our Project Delivery Group. Reporting to the Controls, Automation and Electrical (CA&E) discipline lead engineer, you will support projects globally while working from our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan office. Responsibilities Work independently and as part of a team to complete electrical and controls engineering design deliverables for a variety of projects. Assist with electrical deliverables, including but not limited to: Drafting in CAD tools (MicroStation, AutoCAD, etc.) Calculations (cable sizing, lighting, etc.) Engineering lists (load list, equipment list, cable schedules, material takeoffs) Procurement packages (equipment specifications, technical bid evaluations, vendor data review) Design deliverables (cable block diagrams, singleline diagrams, electrical layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, instrument loop diagrams) Become knowledgeable with electrical design and their practical applications, regional codes and standards (CSA, NEC, IEC, ISA, etc.), various engineering design tools and applications, and Hatchs quality procedures. Work collaboratively in a multidiscipline environment to deliver the best solution for our clients. Assist our engineers and designers with their responsibilities which may include but are not limited to checking engineering deliverables, attending design reviews, quality reviews, and participating in site inspections and walkdowns. Education and Experience Must be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program at an accredited university. Excel academically while being actively involved in extracurricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community. Interest in any of the following will be considered an asset: control systems, instrumentation, communications, power systems engineering, power electronics, distribution systems, protection and coordination, power system analysis. Previous coop or work experience in control systems or electrical and power engineering design and execution will be considered an asset. Technical experience with electrical design calculations, power system modeling tools and software, ability to use datacentric design tools, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) will be considered an asset.
