Phasor Engineering Inc. is a dynamic consulting firm specializing in the engineering and design of overhead & underground transmission/distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations. Our expertise allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering COOP or Intern to join our engineering teams in our Calgary, Burnaby, Winnipeg and Toronto offices. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be fully involved in all aspects of the engineering and design process. We are interested in Electrical, Mechanical, & Mechatronics Engineering students. Preference will be given to those who can stay eight months or longer. Responsibilities Work within a project team of engineers and designers in our Telecom, Substation and Line Design Groups Assist with substation and overhead lines/underground cable routing layout & configuration design for high, medium, and low voltage projects Assist with project development, scope, and budget Attend client design review meetings Conduct field site inspections and field reports Gain knowledge of power system studies and analysis using engineering software packages such as PLS-CAD, EasyPower, SKM, ETAP, Win-IGS, CDEGS, and PS-CADD Prepare electrical equipment specifications, electrical installation scope of work documents, and performance specifications Assist the engineering teams with drafting and CAD updates to drawings Prepare, review and complete drawing markups Prepare and issue drawing packages Other drafting and computerrelated tasks as called upon by one of the engineers Qualifications Experience with the use of power simulation software and design drafting experience in AutoCAD is an asset Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word Strong verbal communication abilities, good organization, interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision Be physically fit as site visits on potentially uneven ground may be required Eligible to work in Canada Third or fourthyear Engineering student in Electrical Engineering As a condition of employment, successful applicants agree to undergo a Backcheck screening, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check.
