Position Legal Assistant Business Law Services at our Toronto office. Minimum three years of experience in Corporate Services or Business Law is required. Salary Toronto Only: $60,000 $80,000 annually. The offered salary may vary based on the candidates jobspecific knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities Support paraprofessionals with drafting corporate documents, including extraprovincial annual maintenance, registrations and cancellations, and amendment documents related to name changes, changes in the number of directors, and changes to the registered head office. Manage mail for the paraprofessional team and provide daytoday support for business law paraprofessionals. Upload documents into Closing Folders and attend to the preparation of correspondence. Maintain the share certificate library and the firms corporate database (ALF). File documents in minute books and the firms document management system. Provide backup support when assistants are absent; support assistants managing multiple tasks and/or difficult deadlines; and work proactively as a positive and productive team member. Coordinate and disperse tasks to various resource groups such as Document Specialists, Administrative Clerks, Billing Analysts, etc., ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner. Coordinate meetings, including scheduling rooms and arranging catering or audiovisual equipment. Maintain and update job knowledge and technical skills by identifying and participating in education opportunities. Ensure quality and accuracy of all work and complete all work within reasonable time frames. Qualifications Legal Assistant diploma or equivalent. Minimum three years of experience as a legal assistant. Indepth knowledge of business and legal terminology. Strong attention to detail and superior word processing, spelling, proofreading and editing skills. Capacity to perform duties with speed and accuracy. Strong time management, organizational and multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure to meet important deadlines. Ability to followup on files and delays with minimal supervision. High level of discretion and confidentiality. Flexibility to occasionally work overtime.
