Job Summary A Pharmacy assistant position at Meadowvale Professional Centre Pharmacy will give one the opportunity to learn about how retail pharmacies operate on a day to day basis. They will get exposure on how prescriptions are processed and filled and the many steps that may take place in between. They will also have the opportunity to interact with patients and other health care professionals. Being able to speak Mandarin will be an asset. Duties Assist licensed pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing Manage inventory levels, restock shelves, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients and healthcare providers Maintain accurate records of medication transactions and patient information Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety protocols Help with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing prescriptions Ensure the pharmacy area adheres to cleanliness and safety standards Educate patients on medication usage and answer basic questions about prescriptions Skills Prior experience in hospital or pharmacy settings is preferred Experience as a pharmacy assistant is a plus Knowledge of Kroll is an asset Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures Excellent patient care skills with a friendly and compassionate approach Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and team members This position provides an excellent platform for those passionate about healthcare to grow their expertise while supporting vital patient services.
