We are currently hiring experienced Construction Foreman across Western Canada. BAT Construction is the ideal environment to grow your Foreman experience. As a Construction Foreman, you''ll be accountable for all operational work on the worksite as well as health and safety. In addition, you''ll be responsible for managing a crew of labourers, heavy duty mechanics, heavy equipment operators, rope technicians, forepersons, and Class 1 drivers. In addition, you will also be responsible for project scheduling and planning, cost control, manpower requirements, progress recording, and employee development. As a Construction Foreman, you will maintain the integrity and quality of our assets, including trucks, heavy equipment, tools, gear, etc. Our Construction Foreman work closely with BAT''s Leadership Team as well as clients and contractors and will consistently build and maintain these relationships by aligning with our Core Values. The ideal candidate will have experience in ground support system installation. It is essential that the successful candidate has a reputation of proven interpersonal skills with team members as well as contractors and clients. This role requires relevant working knowledge of regulations and legislations as they apply to the work being preformed. We are looking for individuals who are dependable, adaptable, capable and flexible of working in remote locations on rotational schedules. Applicants may be required to travel and work in remote locations. Main Duties and Responsibilities Overseeing daily operations and managing a crew of 9-15 workers on site. Organize and direct crews. Responsible for the overall site safety implementation. Wear a respirator when and where required by safety protocols and job demands, ensuring a proper seal and fit at all times. Ensure the work is being performed to the minimum standard of quality or greater. Communicates with yard personnel ensuring all scheduled maintenance is being performed, and unscheduled repairs are addressed in a timely manner. Coordinates work with client, logistics, and on-site personnel. Regularly oversee the operations and rectify unsafe or dangerous conditions or activities. Troubleshooting when problems are encountered. Perform some human resource management activities and HSE Admin. (time sheets, FLHA''s etc.) Complete daily production and project reports for multiple crews Coordinate daily with the client to determine drilling locations, site availability, schedule, and organize misc. side projects as required. Submit safety forms and records to the client, and office. Maintains inventory of drilling supplies and on-site consumables. Maintains communication with other personnel. Are oriented and trained on how and when to use safety measures such as tailgate, toolbox, hazard identification tools (BAT-HSE.FR005 FLRA, Policies, HSE and Technical Procedures, Safe work Permits) Ensure Flexibility; BAT Construction has multiple project sites across Canada that operate at any given time (day or night) thus flexibility is required regarding work schedules, hours, rotations, shifts, and locations. Requirements Thorough understanding of Slope Stabilization work and methodologies. A thorough understanding of BAT operations, requirements, risk factors and safety measures involved in stabilization, drilling, shoring, and shotcrete operations Good communication, organization, and decision-making skills Ability to analyze and spot problems before they become exaggerated. Strong human resource management capabilities Strong financial sense Ability to think of new and innovative ideas to optimize production. Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships. Excellent troubleshooting abilities The ability to promote further services to the client and estimate costs for small projects. Strong leadership skills and attention to detail and judgment as well as an exceptional ability to organize, plan, and anticipate adversity. Preferred Qualifications Experience in ground support systems or geotechnical construction. Experience working with heavy equipment or mechanical systems. Knowledge of safety regulations and legislation relevant to work at height and drilling operations. Relevant education in geotechnical engineering, civil construction, or a related field is considered an asset.
