Contract Period: January to March 2026 (with possibility of extension to June 2026) Location: Huron Community Centre (80 Tartan Avenue, Kitchener) Times: Saturdays: 9:00am to 1:30pm Looking for a fun and rewarding part time job? Want to help individuals in our community participate in sports/recreation? Do you have a passion for leading and convening sports such as badminton and/or pickleball? The Huron Community Association offers a variety of different activities for Adults and youth of all ages. The HCA is looking for staff who are organized, motivated to participate, and skilled at being asset builders. You may be asked to also supervise additional volunteers. Major Responsibilities: Plan and lead sports programming for adults including: '' Intro to Badminton'', Intro to Pickleball'', ''Intermediate Pickleball'', etc. Coordinate sports programming that is both instructional, provide skill development and learning, teaching of game play/ rules of the sport, teaches equipment use Ensure all supplies and equipment are are set-up Provide coordination, support and leadership to volunteers (if needed) Act as a positive role model and representative of the Huron Community Association Implement positive and effective communication and problem solving strategies as required Develop and deliver quality programming to adult program participants each week Qualifications: Experience in leading and teaching various sports - specifically Badminton and/or Pickleball Must possess relevant leadership, administration, supervision, communication, social development and positive behaviour management skills Must have current Standard First-Aid Certificate, or willing to obtain Police check required upon offer of employment Must have strong programming skills with a preferred variety of skills in leading sports to adults/ youth Own transportation to the program location will be required Recommended age: 18 years of age or older Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $21.50 per hour Experience: sport instruction/coaching: 2 years (preferred) Pickleball and/or Badminton: 2 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
