About PFD StylePFD Style is a design-enabled apparel sourcing agency connecting North American retailers with manufacturing partners across Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. We're part of the Pakiza Group, Bangladesh networkan established manufacturing and sourcing ecosystem serving major European retailers including NEXT, PEPCO, LPP, and OVS. Now we're building something new: a North American sourcing concierge that combines Pakiza's manufacturing depth with localized design capability and the agility that mid-market retailers actually need. Our Canadian headquarters is in Vancouver, BC, and established merchandising and sourcing operations in Bangladesh. We're expanding our factory network across Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Turkey, and Peru. The OpportunityThis is not a role where you'll inherit a team, established systems, or a playbook. This is a building role - arguably a co-founding role - where you'll construct our multi-country sourcing operation from the ground up alongside our CEO.You'll be the operational backbone of our North American business: the person who ensures clients get what they need, when they need it, at the right price and quality. You'll manage our entire supplier network outside Bangladesh, build new factory relationships across nine countries, and serve as the primary authority on production execution. This is a role where you can flex all your knowledge and experience to build a team that amplifies your expertise and values. You're ready to own the outcome.Experience10-15+ years in apparel sourcing, production, or merchandisingDirect factory management experience in at least 3-4 of our target countriesTrack record of building or significantly scaling a sourcing operationDeep understanding of what North American mid-market retailers expect: quality systems, compliance documentation, testing requirements, and delivery precisionBackgroundWe'd be particularly interested in candidates from:Sourcing Companies & Trading Houses: Li & Fung, Leveraged Apparel, Synergies Worldwide, TAL Apparel, Shandong Ruyi, Crystal International, Esquel Group, Epic Group, Hirdaramani, MAS Holdings, Brandix, or regional buying offices serving North American retailersRetailer Sourcing Teams: Target, Walmart, Kohl's, Gap Inc., PVH, VF Corporation, Hanesbrands, Gildan, lululemon, Aritzia, or comparable mid-market and mass retailers with global sourcing operationsAcademic Background: Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Parsons School of Design, London College of Fashion, RMIT, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Institute of Textiles and Clothing), NC State Wilson College of Textiles, Philadelphia University (now Jefferson), or equivalent programs with strong merchandising/sourcing curriculumthough we care more about what you've done than where you studiedAttributesExisting factory relationships you can bring or quickly activateComfort with ambiguity and the messiness of early-stage operationsWillingness to travel 30-40% of the time, including extended trips to Asia and other sourcing regionsSelf-directionyou won't have a team in Victoria to delegate to; you'll be doing the workWorking knowledge of trade compliance, country of origin requirements, and preferential tariff programs (USMCA, GSP, etc.)Valuable AdditionsExperience with workwear, uniforms, basics, or similar categoriesFamiliarity with Canadian and US customs and import processesMandarin, Vietnamese, Turkish, Spanish, or Bangla language skillsProduct development or technical design backgroundCompensation & UpsideWe're committed to making this role genuinely lucrative for the right personnot just competitive, but reflective of the outsize impact you'll have.Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and existing networkPerformance Bonus: Meaningful annual bonus (20-40% of base) tied to:Order volume growthMargin performance on orders you place and manageSuccessful factory onboarding in new countriesClient retention and satisfactionEquity / Profit Participation: We're open to order commission arrangements for the right candidate. If you're helping build this into a $20M+ operation, you should participate in that value creation.Benefits: Comprehensive health coverage, flexible PTO, and travel expenses coveredWhy This RoleIt's a building role, not a maintenance role. You'll construct something from scratch with the backing of an established manufacturing network. Few sourcing roles offer this combination of startup autonomy and infrastructure support.Your work will be visible and consequential. In a two-person leadership team, there's nowhere to hidebut there's also no one between you and the impact you create. Every factory you onboard, every client you help land, every problem you solve will directly shape the company's trajectory. The timing is right. North American brands are diversifying supply chains away from China dependence. Tariff uncertainty is creating demand for sourcing partners who can navigate complexity. Mid-market retailers are underserved by the big trading companies. We're positioned to capture this moment. You'll work from arguably the most beautiful place in Canada. You will be in living and working in Victoria, BC with our office in downtown Vancouver. The Honest RealityWe want to be transparent about what you're signing up for:Small team, big ambition. Right now it's the CEO, an Executive Assistant, and our Bangladesh merchandising office. You'll be employee #4 in North America. There's no middle management, no established processes outside Bangladesh, no one to hand things off to.Hands-on execution required. You'll be writing emails to factory owners, chasing sample shipments, reviewing lab test reports, and getting on planes until we hire new staff in countries outside Bangladesh. This isn't a strategy roleit's a do-the-work role with strategic influence.Startup pace, startup uncertainty. We need to scale to $2M+ monthly orders to build the team you'd eventually lead. Until then, you're building the plane while flying it.Geographic complexity. Nine countries means nine sets of regulations, cultures, time zones, and factory dynamics. You'll need to context-switch constantly. If this sounds exhausting, it's probably not the right fit. If it sounds excitinglike the kind of challenge you've been waiting forwe should talk.To ApplySend your resume and a brief note (no formal cover letter needed) explaining:Which of our target countries you have the deepest factory relationships inThe sourcing operation you're most proud of building or contributing toWhat excites you about this particular opportunity
