Job Title: Assistant Superintendent Wood-Frame ConstructionLocation: Burnaby, BCIndustry: Construction (Residential & Institutional)Employment Type: Full-Time, PermanentCompany: Confidential Client (Represented by Skyline Recruitment)Salary Range: $100,000 $120,000 + Bonus & BenefitsAbout the OpportunitySkyline Recruitment is partnering confidentially with a leading general contractor and construction manager known for delivering high-quality non-market and purpose-built rental housing throughout the Lower Mainland.Our client is hiring two Assistant Superintendents to support active and upcoming projects. These roles will work closely with experienced Site Superintendents on mid-rise wood-frame developments, with occasional exposure to concrete and institutional work. The company is known for promoting from within, this would suit an Assistant Superintendent willing to learn and work towards a Superintendent role. Project ExposureMid-rise (up to 6-storey) wood-frame residential buildings over parkadesPurpose-built rental and non-market housing for public and non-profit clientsSelect institutional and mixed-use projectsWhat Youll Be DoingAssist the Site Superintendent with daily on-site coordination and execution.Take ownership of defined scopes such as interiors, building envelope, or MEP trades.Help enforce site safety standards and support a respectful, compliant jobsite.Review drawings and specifications to ensure work is completed to plan and quality expectations.Coordinate trades, track progress, and help resolve site issues.Support inspections, deficiencies, and turnover activities.Contribute to maintaining schedule milestones and overall site organization.What Were Looking ForPrevious experience as an Assistant Superintendent or strong Field Coordinator on wood-frame projects.Familiarity with multi-family residential construction sequencing.Ability to manage trades, prioritize tasks, and communicate clearly on site.Solid understanding of safety practices and site documentation.Willingness to work across different project locations in the Lower Mainland.Red Seal Carpentry or construction-related education is an asset.Why This RoleJoin a contractor with long-term stability and consistent project backlog.Work on meaningful housing projects with experienced site leadership.Clear development path toward Superintendent roles.Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.Strong workforce planning that minimizes downtime between projects.
