Humans of HR is partnering with a large, global, publicly listed organization headquartered in Vancouver to recruit a Head of Total Rewards for a newly created leadership role. This organization operates across multiple regions worldwide and is known for its strong governance, people-first culture, and commitment to building scalable, market-leading HR programs.This is an exciting opportunity to build and evolve a comprehensive total rewards function at the enterprise level, working closely with senior leadership during a period of continued growth and transformation.The Opportunity:Reporting directly to the Head of Human Resources, the Head of Total Rewards will be responsible for the strategy, design, governance, and execution of the organizations global total rewards programs. This role will oversee compensation, equity, benefits, recognition, and pay equity initiatives across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring programs are competitive, compliant, financially sound, and aligned with business objectives.As a newly created role, this position offers the opportunity to shape the total rewards philosophy from the ground up, introduce best-in-class practices, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and the Compensation Committee.What Youll Be Doing:Total Rewards Strategy & GovernanceDefine, evolve, and maintain the organizations global total rewards philosophy, strategy, and guiding principlesDevelop policies, frameworks, cost models, and budgets to support sustainable and competitive rewards programsEnsure all programs align with business strategy, financial objectives, and governance standardsCompensation & Job ArchitectureDesign, implement, and maintain corporate compensation structures, salary bands, and job architecture frameworksOversee job evaluation, leveling, and internal equity across office-based, remote, and globally mobile rolesEnsure alignment between job architecture, job descriptions, job evaluations, and employment termsLead compensation benchmarking, analysis, and recommendations across the employee lifecyclePerformance, Recognition & BenefitsPartner with HR leadership to align compensation programs with performance and goal-setting frameworksContribute to the design and evolution of recognition programs that drive engagement and retentionOversee benefits, paid time off, retirement, and wellness programs to ensure competitiveness, inclusivity, and market relevanceEquity & Executive CompensationLead the administration and governance of long-term equity-based compensation programsOversee grant cycles, vesting events, share transactions, and equity platform administrationPartner with Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting, taxation, and complianceSupport executive compensation disclosure, including Compensation Committee materials and public filingsPay Equity, Compliance & ReportingLead internal pay equity reviews across regions and prepare findings and recommendationsPrepare statutory pay transparency and regulatory reports, as requiredEnsure compliance with all applicable compensation legislation across jurisdictionsDevelop dashboards, reports, and analytics to support senior leadership decision-makingContinuous Improvement & Market InsightStay current on market trends, legislative changes, and emerging best practices in total rewardsIdentify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and system enhancementsManage relationships with external compensation consultants and advisorsRequired Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related fieldProfessional certification in compensation or total rewards (e.g., CCP or equivalent)5+ years of progressive experience in total rewards or compensation leadership within a publicly traded, global organizationDemonstrated experience across total rewards, executive compensation, equity programs, and regulatory disclosureStrong analytical capability with advanced Excel skillsExceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insightsProven ability to work across multiple jurisdictions and culturally diverse teamsHigh level of discretion, attention to detail, and professionalism
