Hiring on behalf of the Vancouver Police Foundation (VPF):Since 1976, the Vancouver Police Foundation (VPF) has partnered with the Vancouver Police Department to support innovative programs that reduce crime, increase safety, and strengthen community connections across Vancouver. One of the worlds oldest and most respected police foundations, VPF has invested $14.5M+ in nearly 300 programs that promote public safety, youth leadership, and meaningful community engagement.From the life-changing VPD Cadet Program, to support for the VPD Canine Unit, to community-building initiatives like the Block Watch and Womens Personal Safety Workshops, the Foundation funds programs that fall outside the VPDs operating budget - enabling officer-led solutions to some of the citys most pressing challenges.This is more than a fundraising role its an opportunity to help bring Vancouver to life in meaningful, human-centred ways.THE ROLEReporting to the Executive Director, the Director, Fundraising and Donor Relations plays a central role in advancing the Foundations mission by building strong, trusted relationships with donors and shaping a fundraising program that delivers visible community impact.You will: Lead all fundraising streams with creativity, strategic thinking, and a stewardship-first approach Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation supporters Design and deliver an exceptional donor experience that connects supporters to impact Collaborate across events, marketing, finance, and operations to amplify the Foundations missionThis role offers meaningful visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to work closely with community partners, senior volunteers, and major philanthropic stakeholders.WHO YOU AREYou are a fundraising leader with several years of major-gift and donor relationship experience, motivated by ambitious goals and meaningful impact. You bring sound judgment, strong instincts, and a thoughtful, strategic approach to building and stewarding relationships. Independent and proactive, you thrive in environments where you are trusted to take initiative, think creatively, and respectfully push boundaries. You are energized by the opportunity to lead fundraising efforts of $12 million in year one and help grow the Foundation substantially in the years ahead.You are also a natural connector who navigates comfortably among diverse stakeholders, from corporate leaders and community partners to volunteers and members of the Vancouver Police Department.
